Let us introduce you to the exceptional team behind AJC Homes.

With a wealth of combined experience in the housing sector, including acquisition, planning, development and construction, the AJC Homes team have an impressive portfolio behind them.

    David Cracklen, Director

    David set up AJC Homes along with his two co-founders with one clear vision; to become the region’s leading builder of affordable housing on behalf of and in partnership with registered providers, local authorities and charities. He is a passionate advocate of the ability of quality affordable housing to transform the landscape of house-building in the UK for generations to come.

    He has over twenty years of experience in the industry and within our business, David has joint responsibility with Mark for overseeing the land acquisition and planning functions for the development programme of the group. He is also in charge of business and relationship management with our housing association clients. 

    David enjoys most sports but at weekends is most likely to be found wandering up and down mountains!

    Marks Adams, Director

    Mark’s entrepreneurial tendencies, negotiation ability and commercial mindset enabled him to see a large gap and business opportunity in the local property market and he subsequently founded AJ Developments with his colleague and friend, Seb Janes. 

    The company has grown from strength to strength over the past ten years, making it one of the most successful local development companies in Dorset and Hampshire.

    Mark founded AJC with Seb and David as a sister company to AJ, sharing the vision for the company to become the leading provider of affordable and social housing in the Wessex Region. Within AJC Mark heads up the immediate land purchase and planning functions as well as ensuring a robust funding stream with our bank and investors.

    A keen tennis player and golfer, Mark will more often than not be found outdoors.

    Sebastian Janes, Director

    Coming from an experienced Construction background, spent several years across many practical functions within the industry, learning to develop his understanding and knowledge of the built environment and its processes. 

    Seb is a highly credible and informed individual, with a keen eye for identifying areas of improvement within our Industry. He founded the successful AJ Developments group almost ten years ago and is now proud to be a co-founder alongside David and Mark of AJC Homes. Seb will be heading up the growth of the construction division and is keen to bring in new technologies and improvements to maximise the efficiency and quality of the homes we are building for our housing association clients.

    In his spare time, Seb is a family man and enjoys completing fitness challenges.

    Ben Peddie, Construction Director

    Ben is our Head of Construction and Director of the company, started in the industry almost twenty years ago. Ben has had exposure to every level, from labouring on sites as a boy to most recently Construction Director for Bloor Homes. Ben has a broad, practical knowledge of all different forms of construction. 

    He worked for many years in management roles for national house builders, including Berkeley Homes (Southern), where he started as a Trainee Site Manager, and over 13 very successful years worked his way up to Regional Build Manager. From there, he was approached and offered the Directorship with Bloor Homes (Southern) where he grew the business by 50% over three years to the largest and most profitable region in the country. 

    Ben has an 8-year old son, and in his spare time, his main passions include boats, snowboarding, golf, tennis and rugby.

    John Langley, Quantity Surveyor

    John joins us with over 12 years experience in the construction industry, having built a broad-ranging quantity surveying career in commercial, residential, educational and leisure construction. He has an RICS accredited degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management.

    John has worked for some of the region’s leading commercial teams for companies, including Midas Construction, where he was heavily involved in residential, care and retirement developments across the South. John is our leading Quantity Surveyor and is in charge of commercial processes and developing our supply chain alongside the AJC Homes team, as well as providing quantity surveying support on all projects.

    Elliot Lines, Trainee Quantity Surveyor

    Elliot started his career in construction at Morgan Sindall as an apprentice where he experienced multiple areas of the business, mainly working on large commercial buildings. He took the next step his career and became a Commercial Coordinator, working on projects all over the country while completing a HNC in Quantity Surveying at Solent University.

    He joins AJC Homes as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, working closely with the commercial team gaining knowledge and experience while working towards a degree in Construction Management at Solent University.

    Elliot currently plays football for New Milton Town who compete in the Sydenhams Wessex League. If you can’t find him on the pitch, he will be on the golf course.

    Ziyad Thomas, Principal Planning Manager

    Ziyad joins the company to establish a dedicated town planning function and to assist in informing the land acquisition process.  He is a versatile town planner having spent over 13 years working across both the private and public sector. While he has experience across a broad range of commercial sectors, he has significant expertise in housing having spent with majority of the past decade spent working in-house for national house builders.

    His planning career started in Scotland and Ziyad has gradually worked his way further South, via Sheffield and Manchester, to Dorset working for McCarthy & Stone in 2013.  He is proud to have acquired planning permission for major housing developments across the Country but with greater focus across the South of England in the more recent past. He has a particular interest in both policy and development viability and is looking to supplement his chartered membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) by progressing toward full membership of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

    Outside of work Ziyad enjoys travel, music and being in the countryside however most of his spare time is spent chasing after his two energetic sons.

    Will Hudson, Site Manager

    Will is a Site Manager with AJC Homes where he will be leading and managing their site at Clarendon Road in Westbourne, Bournemouth.

    Will gained many successful years of management experience in the British Army over a 15 year career which saw him operate in some of the world’s most hostile environments and where he held critical leadership roles.  When he left his army career behind, he channelled this valuable management experience into a new a career in construction management, a career in which he has excelled ever since.

    In the construction management roles he has held, Will has won several prestigious industry awards along the way.  His keen eye for detail and quality has meant that the projects he has managed have consistently received excellent feedback from customers and clients alike.

    Will has 3 children and in his spare time, enjoys rugby, camping and taking part in fitness/charity events.

    Sue Stockley, Finance Manager

    With extensive experience in finance, Sue has joined AJC Homes after 19 years working as a Project Cost Control Accountant within another successful and well-known local business. This is an exciting new opportunity for Sue and we are inspired to have her on board, her vast knowledge and expertise will see her take charge of all financial aspects within AJC and the projects that we undertake.

    Sue enjoys an active lifestyle through archery, walking and cycling and, most recently, a new found love of travel.

    Megan Adams, Operations Manager

    Megan moved to Poole during her childhood years and later attended the Lucy Clayton & St James Finishing School in London where she gained a distinction in Secretarial and Executive PA professional training. 

    Relocating back to Poole, Megan’s career began in Financial Recruitment, an Industry which she thoroughly enjoyed and excelled within for 7 years before joining our team. 

    A highly accomplished individual with an acute business mind, Megan is our head of operations and is also in charge of the recruitment and HR functions.

    In her spare time, Megan has a passion for travelling, socialising and spoiling her two Shar-Peis!
